Doomie's No-Chicken Chicken Dinner

DOOMIE’S HOME COOKIN’: MAKING BAD LOOK SO GOOD

HOLLYWOOD, CA
Between the lines of the Doomie’s all-vegan menu you’ll read, “Leave your conscience at the door. It’s time to indulge.” To what degree is up to you.

Doomie’s burgers range from the Build A Classic—lettuce, scratch-made cheese, tomato, onions, pickles, and 1000 island dressing—to the Big D, a burger stacked so high with double layers of everything you’ll wonder how to tackle that first bite. What falls somewhere in the middle are the Build a Bacon Cheeseburger, Western Bacon Cheeseburger, Memphis Cheeseburger, and Peanut Butter Bacon Cheeseburger.

Wait, what? That last one is described as “a life-changing combination of peanut butter, bacon, cheese & pickles, plus a side of jelly for the more adventurous.”

Doomie's Mighty Cristo Sandwich
Mighty Cristo Sandwich (sorry, not on the current menu)

Regretfully, I have yet to try a Doomie’s burger so you’ll have to let me know how it is. For my first visit, my heart was set on the Mighty Cristo Sandwich. The influence of social media is real.

The second time around, I was craving a little bit of everything, so I went with the Fried Chicken Meal (featured image). If “ooey and gooey” mac & cheese is your thing too, Doomie’s offers it straight up or topped with 1000 island dressing and grilled onions (Cease + Desist Mac) or meaty chili (Chili Mac).

SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT

This sinful vegan joint has plenty more goodies. The coolers are loaded with an impressive selection of beer and slices of carrot cake, cheesecake, and German chocolate cake so big you’ll have to strap your dessert box into its own seat on the way home.

But why stop at ordinary when you can get a taste of everyone’s #1 pick: Deep-Fried Oreos powdered with sugar and drizzled with chocolate.

Of course, Doomie’s also has good old-fashioned milkshakes to go with their good old-fashioned burgers. 22 flavors to be exact. Chocolate, Oreo, strawberry, vanilla, and horchata to name a few. 22 flavors in total. Whipped cream optional.

Goddamn, that’s a pretty fucking good milkshake. I don’t know if it’s worth ten dollars, but it’s pretty fucking good.

The words of Vincent Vega, slightly modified for inflation. Whatever your poison may be, I hope it hits the spot.

GOOD TIMES, DAY AND NIGHT

And I mean alllll night. Doomie’s plans to open at a new location in July 2026, so their hours might change. But right now, you can eat in Hollywood Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 1 am daily. On Friday, they open at 11 am and don’t close until 3 am Sunday night.
